FAQs

IS A3D ONE OF A KIND?
While we’re not the only ones using this technology, we are indeed one of a kind in that we offer unique, hand-painted environments of exquisite beauty and engaging subject matter. And, as for being a mobile, customized art installation, we are THE ONLY company of its kind. No one else is doing this!

IS A3D CUSTOMIZABLE?
Yes! In addition to our existing library of murals, we can create artwork specifically adapted to your theme party, containing graphics/logos that represent your brand.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN A3D ACCOMODATE?
The size of our installation is flexible. Depending upon your needs, our room(s) could be configured in a variety of ways to suit the number of people at your event. Generally, your guests will spend time walking around inside A3D and then move on to other areas of your event. Usually, they’ll want to return—often repeatedly!

CAN A3D BE INSTALLED IN OUR OFFICE?
We have the capability to install inside your space, or outside, within our own pop-up structures. There are many different configurations we can take on!

DOES A3D TRAVEL?
Yes. We have been a part of many art and music festivals within California and Nevada. We are fully mobile and can even transport across the country.

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN AN A3D SETUP?
Once we’ve had a chance to see your space and plan on the size and configuration of the installation, as well as the specific artwork to be shown, we determine how large a crew is necessary. Before your event begins (typically 1–3 days), our crew gets to work on the setup. During the event, we typically have 1–4 employees hosting/manning the installation. Takedown usually occurs the day after your event—typically within one day.

CAN PEOPLE DANCE INSIDE A3D?
Yes! We can even provide the DJ. We have installed a specially designed DJ station and sound system in several configurations, with great lineups of DJ talent.

HISTORY

In the summer of 2006, DAK and some friends were brainstorming on a truly creative offering to bring up to Burning Man – that counter-culture art festival up in the desert of northern Nevada. (At least back then, it needed a little explanation).Transporting it 700 miles and setting up under fierce conditions had it’s challenges. Nonetheless, once people started coming in and experiencing “The Altervison 3D Blacklight Lounge” that Friday evening, they were hearing “This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen at Burning Man!” and the like. Not a bad start.

Despite it being such a huge hit upon inception, their vision remained relatively small for some time. For the next few years, they sporaticaly set it up at special events – until, in October of 2012, they started to realize the potential. People were constantly emphasizing the uniqueness and intrigue that A3D brought with it everywhere it went. So the team was then inspired to take it to the next level.

In the beginning, the painting of the murals was done entirely by DAK and his friends who made up the Burning Man theme camp. None of them, however, were trained painters. Although DAK was a professional artist, with a grand vision and the ability to art direct, this project was merely an act of personal creative expression with the intention of offering this artistic community something different; something exciting, interactive and fun – totally encompassing what the Burning Man art festival was all about – participation and inspiration.

DAK and some of the original group then created Altervision 3D, LLC., with the objective of expanding this innovative concept so that it could be brought into all sorts of events and potentially even become a livelihood. They brought in a professional painter who substantialy upped the level of artwork.

Over the next few years, DAK built Altervision 3D up to be stronger than ever, incorporating the artwork of many great painters. Collaborations with artists of various disciplines has brought the production to even further heights – creating an interactive experience that totally blows people away!

And still, this is just the beginning. So many incredible relationships are being cultivated, with such amazing talent, exploring possibilities so innovative, that the potential for what is produced to be infinite! Whether it’s a corporate event, a music festival or a private party, A3D is all about delivering an unforgettable experience, that is new and different each and every time.
